| A young carver showing us one of his completed carvings. These Carvers work all summer in the carving studio - below the Mungo Martin house and next to the museum. You can see the pride these men put into their work. The hours and patience that went into this carving is evident in the workmanship. This young Native carver was working in the carving shed at the First Peoples Festival. His tools are traditional - with elk and wood handles. His work takes many hours and a great deal of spiritual inspiration. Look at that beautiful salmon with abalone inlay. Beautiful!
